Škoda Octavia 2017 facelift

The changes include newly designed front and rear sections, state-of-the-art driver assistance, infotainment and connectivity systems and new equipment for both hatch and estate. We’ll update ŠKODA Hub with UK pricing as soon as it’s confirmed.

“The Octavia has always been in a class of its own in the compact segment,” says ŠKODA Auto CEO Bernhard Maier. “As the 'heart of the brand', the Octavia has decisively shaped ŠKODA’s outstanding development from the very start, and has made the company what it is today: an internationally successful automotive manufacturer with a presence in more than 100 markets worldwide. With the now extensively revised ŠKODA Octavia, we are keen to continue this development sustainably.”

The space available in the revised Octavia remains one of the largest in its class. Both the hatch and estate offer 1,782 millimetres of interior space and 73 millimetres of leg room in the rear. Their luggage compartments have 590 and 610 litres of space respectively, and 1,580 and 1,740 litres respectively with rear seats folded down. There is an optional electric tailgate available for the estate.

Infotainment and connectivity

Enhanced infotainment systems are also available in the revised Octavia. The Bolero, Amundsen and Columbus gain touch-sensitive glass-fronted designs. The Columbus will feature a 9.2-inch display, a wireless local area network (WLAN) hotspot and an optional SIM card module with Long Term Evolution (LTE) internet connectivity – the fastest available in any ŠKODA model.

Driver assistance systems

Trailer assistant, predictive pedestrian protection which complements front assist, parking assist, blind spot detection and rear traffic alert form the impressive array of driver assistance systems offered on the new model, while the rear-view camera displays the car’s immediate surroundings via the on-board monitor.

Simply Clever solutions include a customisable key, allowing multiple users to save their own vehicle settings, as well as a heated steering wheel, bottle holders that allow people to open and close them using one hand and, on the estate, a removable torch in the boot.

Two TSI and two TDI engines will be available from launch in the UK:

  • 1.0 TSI 115PS
  • 1.4 TSI 150PS
  • 1.6 TDI 115PS
  • 2.0 TDI 150PS

For almost all engines in the revised Octavia range, a direct shift gearbox (DSG) with six or seven gears will be available in addition to manual.

A highlight in the chassis is the optional dynamic chassis control (DCC), which enables the driver to regulate the steering and damping characteristics in the comfort, normal and sport modes. The light alloy wheels range from 16 to 18 inches and come in numerous new designs.
