Road Tax Changes

As with the current system the first year's road tax is included in the list price of a new car and as such, this remains unchanged.  From the second year the new changes will apply. No longer is the road tax based upon the CO2 emission of the car, with the exception of zero emission cars, all cars with a manufacturers list price under £40,000 will have a single rate of £140 per year. Cars with a list price over £40,000 will attract an additional £310 duty for the next 5 years making the total payable on these cars only £450 per annum. A Full table of changes can be found below.

The good news is that most cars purchased and registered prior to 31st March 2017 will benefit from being on the old system.... especially those with a list price over £40,000.
